For our 4th and final spring warm up match we were at our club lake, Riverside Road in St. Albans.
I drew first and drew peg 2 which is the peg I drew and won from in the first match of the 2017 season last June.
Fishing across to the far bank with meat hookbait and a little pot on the pole with meat or meat and corn in each time, I started well with a couple of carp in the first 30 minutes but it was not plain sailing, I would get little bursts of 2 or 3 fish then a long wait until the next fish each time.
This pattern continued for the first 4 hours but in the last hour it was a real struggle with a couple of lost foul hookers and only one hooked properly ending up in the net.
I ended up with 13 Carp and 2 Crucians for 47lb which was 4th in the match.
