Match 5 now, this was at Newland Hall Fishery on Moat Lake.
The far bank was thought to be the favoured draw and I drew peg 4, this is on the near bank with the middle of the island to chuck towards.
I started on the feeder to the island and had a few small carp and a crucian but it was very snaggy and I had to pull for a break 3 times. This, I am sure cost me a couple of places in the match.
During the middle part of the match I fished the pole at 5m where I had fed some 4mm and 6mm pellets.
I started fishing paste here but there were too many very small fish so I switched to a banded pellet rig which caught me a few more small carp but it was tough going as after a fish or two it would be hard to get a bite for a while.
The last hour was spent fishing my left margin with a top kit and big lumps of paste over groundbait. I had 6 carp here and they were a bit bigger stamp as you would hope for.
I weighed a total of 42lb 11oz which was 6th in the match.
