The favoured draw is the low 20's on the far side and perhaps not coincidentally, this is the shaded side of the lake. Well my drawing arm failed me again, I drew peg 30 in the hot sun apart from the first 30 minutes or so.
Nothing really worked well for me today, I started on a method feeder to the reeds on my right but I just got a load of liners and no proper bites.
Tried pellets at 11 metres and caught a couple of very small carp, those would not get me anywhere in the frame unless they had been coming quickly every put in so I tried the 5m line with corn which produced a few carp.
Half way through the match I started feeding my margin with groundbait and dead maggots, I would see the occasional carp tail and I did catch a few carp here but it never really got going. I had thousands of tiny roach in the peg and could not seem to get enough carp in to push them out.
I ended up with a dozen carp and some roach for a total of 34lb 12oz.
As expected, the top two weights came from pegs 22 and 23 who had a close battle for the win.

I also had an unusual visitor, I think it was a "Smooth Snake" which are apparently quite rare!
