A wet breezy day was forecast and they got it right!
I drew on the causeway bank, a peg I have had before which I was quite happy with.
We had heard that the stock had been thinned out a bit so that it might not be such a workout as previous years but still fairly busy.
When we fish our Autumn match here we always have a split match so we would be fishing 9.30 - 12.00 then a quick weigh-in then fishing 12.30 - 15.00.
It did not take long to hear fish being landed around the lake and after 5 minutes or so feeding I started to catch too.
I had 2 lines of attack, a top kit to my right feeding pellets and corn very regularly and 4m in front feeding pellets. I caught quite well on the top kit in the first 90 minutes but then it went a bit slow so I turned my attention to the 4m line.
I had been feeding pellets at 4m from the start and caught well on this up to the mid match weigh-in.
I had split my fish between 4 nets and they added up to 103lb.
From what I had heard this would put me around 6th or 7th so far, so needed to out-catch a few in the second half to climb into the frame.
More of the same in the second half on the 4m line with the right line giving up a few when I wanted to rest the other line a bit and just feed it.
I think I had about the same number of carp (approx 40) in the second half but of a bigger average size.
After weighing my 4 nets of carp and assisting with the rest of our section we totaled up my weighs and the grand total was 274lb 14oz,
I had managed to climb to 4th place which seems to be my regular placing on this match.

Here is some action from the second half of the match.
